Site Features Huge List of Web Tools & Learning Resources

15 January 2008

I love tools…both hardware and software. Jane Hart of Centre for Learning & Performance Technologies (based in the UK) has published an awesome list of web tools and resources that she has been collecting for the past year. Her Directory of Learning Tools contains over 2,000 tools for both the professional and personal users. Jane’s list with links includes everything from blogging tools, mobile device tools, web design tools, web authoring tools, html editors, plus so much more. Really just about every category of tools you can think of. The list is huge and you could spend hours on it.

Centre for Learning & Performance Technologies is an excellent site. Jane has an extensive background in education and training and focuses on e-learning. She is a consultant in the business, private and public sectors working on projects such as strategy, analysis, tools selection, design & development, evaluation, staff development, and research. Jane encourages the use of freeware and open source software of which I am a huge fan (if you haven’t already noticed). The site has articles, reviews, a weekly bulletin, and Jane’s E-Learning Pick of the Day all centered around learning resources and tools.

Jane Hart also conducts 1 day workshops (UK and Europe only) for organizations where she covers:

  • More than just online courses! What e-learning now means, and how the new trends and technologies can be used for learning, performance improvement and support - with lots of examples and examples
  • What’s right for you! Which are the most appropriate types of e-learning solutions for your organization, your people, your budget, etc - and an evaluation of any existing e-learning offerings you have
  • The pros and cons! What you need to know. Should you outsource e-learning design and development or carry it out in-house? What are the risks? How do you select vendors, content, tools and systems? What can you get for FREE?
  • Any other topics that you would like ..

Centre for Learning & Performance Technologies is packed full of information and tools. Whether you run an organization, run a home business, or are just an Internet user in general, this site has a tool for you.
